[SOLVED] Flaky home network connection (NFS server) in Statler

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Dear all,after upgrading to Statler on both desktop & laptop I have been experiencing apparent intermittent loss of signal between the desktop's NFS server and the client laptop, in spite of the fact that the wireless signal quality seems to stay above 90%. I notice the interruptions especially when listening to music on MPD; I have both server and client on the same machine (actually both desktop & laptop), and an NFS remote share hosted by the desktop and mounted on the laptop client, which is a setup that has worked brilliantly for a long time, except for the mentioned recent u (HowTos)

Sorry for the long question, but the situation/desire is quite complex. Here is my setup: I have a laptop which I carry around everywhere and I have a desktop sitting at home, connected to the internet through a router using NAT.

Here's my setup: I have a laptop that I roam around everywhere with, and I have a desktop computer at home that is connected to the web using a router with NAT.

My objective here is to create an SSH server which I can use for the purpose of file storage/access as well as using it as a proxy server.

I try to use ssh to log in to a remote host.

This works for my Ubuntu desktop, however, it fails from my Fedora 14 laptop.

The failure means after I type ssh username@host and pressed Enter, nothing else shows on my screen.

And using ping on the desktop works fine, however nothing returned on my laptop.

X11 forwarding through SSH 1 year 8 weeks ago

I have been playing around with X11 forwarding the past few hours and so far I've managed to forward my desktop pc's X Server to my laptop, using X11VNC as server and X2VNC as client.

I have two Ubuntu machines - desktop and a laptop - both after clean install.
