Hello, I am not a video expert and all my video editing is limited to converting my videos to a YouTube optimised format before uploading onto the platform. At the moment I am using transcoder.
Sometime over this weekend--I think after an update--I started noticing that videos on Youtube in Chrome have spots on them, and that's with both Flash videos and HTML5 videos. This doesn't happen on other video websites, or even in Firefox.
Has anyone else encountered this?
When I installed 12.04 I also added Ubuntu-restricted-extras. I decided to try accessing flash content in Firefox without the Adobe plugin, and I wanted to experiment with streaming video directly with VLC, so I removed flashplugin-installer.
It started a few days ago, around Feb 14.
I'm running Firefox on Ubuntu, Lucid Lynx, with Shockwave Flash (flash player) 11.2 r202 which was just updated on Feb 15.
Just about that time I noticed that some of the videos on youtube.com won't play, the video play object says "This video is currently unavailable".
Then after a while, more and more until all videos on youtube.com wo

I'm currently running 13.04 (I try to extend the little help I can by submitting bug reports) and the video is extremely choppy and pix-elated on any video program I run (vlc, mplayer, totem etc.), any flash or html5 videos, and HD videos won't play in a reasonable way at all (entire frames get skipped and video footage is completely distorted; I would say it's about 10 FPS on HD videos, really ex

Whenever I try to play embedded flash videos on a webpage, it just blacks out and thats the end of it. Before I uninstalled nspluginswrapper, it would go white or gray, but now that I've uninstalled it I just get a black box instead. No sound of video will play.
I can however, play videos from youtube just fine.
I've been trying to watch webm videos on youtube lately with only partial success. Some of them play alright, while others request Adobe Flash. For example, this video requests flash, and this one plays without.
