If I want to install lightscribe for CD burning, how do I install it safely?

I have a basic dual setup with Linux Debian and Windows 7 (Grub is my bootloader). However, since this machine will be donated to a friend that does not know a lot about computers, I would like to install a more user friendly Linux distro.
I suspect that if I try to install on top of Debian, the bootloader will be overwritten and hell will break loose.

The Dark Jelly 2X Edition is a Custom Rom based on my Unofficial CM10.1 Build.
Note:
This Rom is in EXPERIMENTAL stage atm, especially the installation on new bootloader,
I ONLY tested the rom on the old bootloader, the installation on new bootloader, is AT YOUR OWN RISK,
it may comes to DATA LOSS, while installing to the new bootloader,
this may also happen, if you choose the WRONG bootl

I know how stupid this sounds BUT is it possible to install a linux distro that has been loaded to the drive it was booted from?
I was thinking of installing Arch or Puppy to a flashdrive that Would be hosting itself.
OR
Is there a precompiled drag and drop style distro that you can drop the files to and run with constant persistence from drive to drive?

I've been trying and failing for a while now as try to use a preseeded usb to install 10.04 server. I wonder if anyone out there could share some advice.
My goal is to have an automated way of installing 10.04 server using a preseeded USB.
What I mean by automated is that I don't have to answer any questions during the install.
