I am trying to play an HD H.264 file on my Mythbuntu box. But VLC stutters and on mplayer the audio-video goes out of sync. The file plays fine on my windows box. My cpu is underpowered for software decoding(Athlon 3200). So I was hoping to use hardware decoding. I believe my video card comes with a H.264 decoder on it(NVidia Geforece 7600 GS).
I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 from CD and I really prefer the GNOME desktop to Unity. However when I reactivate my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop from Suspend Mode, after logging in, I've experienced consistent graphical errors to the point that I can no longer make out an icon from the other or restart the computer (see attached picture).
Hi,
I have acer TravelMate 5760G Laptop, with Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics on it.
Unfortunately, I can not get it to run with Nvidia drivers, what prohibits to run it with OpenGL.
I installed OpenSuse Gnome version 64 bit on a HP laptop DV7 Intel Dual Core with nVidia 9600 GM card
All went well, until after I had installed the nVidia drivers from this page: NVIDIA drivers - openSUSE
Sorry for the title but somehow everything got screwed after driver installation on 12.10.

I can't seem to successfully install ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver (post release updates).
Ubuntu 11.10
ATI All In Wonder video card
I have attached screen shots of System Info - Additional Drivers, and jockey.log
I've searched Google and Ubuntu forums but can't seem to find anything that applied to my problem.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Cheers,
Bill Roberts
Hi,
I just installed a BFG Nvidia based geforce 7950 gt OC edition card. the system is a updated / upgraded Lucid LTS. I have tried to get the drivers working by using nvidia-current and by adding the x-swat ppa and installing the 256.x series driver. I can in some cases get the card to function in 2d. I am unable to get compiz / effects working.
Hello, I am having a problem, seemingly with my NVIDIA onboard video. When I open any LibreOffice application, my whole screen goes blurry; see the attached screenshot. I am using 11.10 Oneiric with NVIDIA GeForce 7025.
Thanks.

Hi can anybody help with my Video problem, I have activated dual screen monitors using the Nvidia driver GUI as Sax2 would not correctly configure it. Now at every boot I get the message "undefined video mode 31a, press [enter] for a list of video modes or [space] to continue. After pressing space the system boots to my liking, how can I get rid of the message at every boot up?
