Hello. Last Trusty update removed oracle-java7-installer and jre and installed open-jdk. I really need oracle java provided by webupd8 for a buch of stuff, since open-jdk does not do everything I need .
I am running debian on this older G4 and having a problem installing Java. After searching on Google, I have only been finding issues with other linux distros, mostly ubuntu. I followed the instructions here (which are pretty much the same as on all forums) but still getting the error below. So I am thinking that I just must be missing something else?
It seems any package that I try to install using jre7 or jre6 fails with the error below:E: oracle-java7-installer: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1E: oracle-jdk7-installer: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured I cannot install or uninstall java by itself either. What next?Bill
Hi, I was making a shell script to install the RPM Fusion repository and install mp3/mp4 codecs when I ran into a problem. It says that "sudo yum install gstreamer-plugins bad;sudo yum install gstreamer-plugins-ugly is an ivalid command, so I copy/pase it into the terminal, and lo and behold, it works.
I installed oracle for a bit because I thought I was having trouble with openjdk, after a bit of testing it turned out it wasn't openjdk so I switched back and un installed oracle but when I didit still left over the oracle console oracle, visualVM and two other oracle java related links I was just wonder how you get rid of these as well and what I did wrong.
