My work notebook has an intel wifi adapter and currently lets me use wifi channels 1-11
I had a similar problem with an Atheros WIFI card (driver ath5k).2 weeks ago I discovered that my WIFI router was set to channel 6 (the same as 7 other APs in range).
Hi,
After installing 10.04 I get really slower wifi connection, as well as time needed to connect to the base station. I tried with fedora 13 and it worked much more faster.
I have tested changing channels, did the wifi scan to see which channels where occupied as well as looked for activities on them.
Does anyone know a quick & easy way to scan the air around me for which 802.11g/n channels are least used? I'm setting up a wireless network in a new house, and figured if I'm going to do it I might as well do it right.
First - If you break your card??? I am not going to lose any sleep over it.
I was able to get the TX Power of my awuso36nh card all the way up to 33 working with injection. Here is how I did it.
One warning. I am doing this on Ubuntu but it shouldn't be too much different.
I followed Joker5bb great tutorial (This was really helpful).
I use Network Manager applet to connect to my lan (I don't use dhcp however). The problem is that my machine runs several servers (http, ftp, smb, ...) and should be ALWAYS accessible whenever the computer power is ON, even if there is no user logged.
I have a Asus U52F-BBG6 running dual boot Backtrack 5 R1 and BlackBuntu 0.3 . My Issue is with my wireless card on BlackBuntu which is based off Ubuntu 10.10 which isn't supported anymore but my wireless card is a Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WIMAX 6250 but says disconnected on BlackBuntu 0.3 .
I had my mythbox hooked up to the TV with a DVI-VGA adapter and then had the VGA cable hooked up to the TV..
When I would power on the mythbox I would notice that I would drop channels (using OTA HDTV signal in the USA)
So as a test to solve this issue I had a DVI to HDMI adapter that I used to connect it to the HDTV.
I've been running for some time with Myth 0.24 and a Hauppauge dual DVB-T tuner - I am in the UK.
My problem arises from the fact that I have just added a TBS6280 dual tuner card so that I can receive the HD DVB-T2 channels.
