Just struggling a little with Xfce after years of Gnome & Lxde...
In Nautilus, mounted partitions & drives are indicated by a "triangle over bar" icon.
Non-mounted partitions are shown in the left pane but without the icon - right?
When I hot-plug my camera, it appears with the icon & I know it's mounted.
In Thunar, all partitions, mounted or not, have a similar icon?
I have created a custom action in the Thunar file manager to change my wallpaper using Feh. The problem is that there is already a right click entry for changing wallpaper in Thunar but it does not work because I'm not running XFCE. Is there anyway to remove this option from the Thunar right click menu. Thank you for any help in advance.
After searching for a solution for a few days, I believe that this could be a bug. After increasing the height of the xfce-panel I noticed, that the icons of the window buttons remained small. Because this looks stupid and makes recognizing the icons harder than it has to be I want to increase the icon size of the window buttons of my xfce4-panel.
Hi, I recently switched to xubuntu from ubuntu and am loving it.
My only gripe is with the file manager arrange icons. In ubuntu, I think it is called nautilus, allowed me to arrange icons in one folder one way, and then in another folder another way. For example by name in music.
I updated last night to 12.04 (Mythbuntu) and suddenly there are no icons in thunar. I saw some search results that said something about choosing an icon set, but that didn't appear to work for me, Desktop is xfce.
I am using xfce menu in the panel so I was wondering how I go about changing the right click behavior to the standard xfce behavior. I change backgrounds a lot and it would be more convenient for me to have quick access to the desktop settings on right click.thanks.
The Xfce development team is proud to announce the first preview release for Xfce 4.10. Together with this preview release, the Xfce project announces the feature freeze for the final 4.10 release which is set to be pushed out to the world on April 28th, 2012.<snip>Thunar gained a more polished layout to reduce space usage and more responsive interaction with the thumbnail generator.
... the question is: From whence does Thunar fetch it's default folder icon?! <....>
Long story short, I've changed my icon theme, and gotten everything else to respect that choice ... with the single exception of the default folder icon in Thunar.
See below for attached screenshots of three file managers.
