Finally, after more than 12 hours and around 10 times re-installing Ubuntu, i got to install the ATI Drivers.
The Ubuntu Software Center is a utility for software management in Ubuntu.
Current versions allow easy finding and installing of software. In addition to that it supports software purchases, includes a recommendation features, and replace other tools such as apturl and gdebi.
Future version may allow replacing of APTonCD, and most of the Computer Janitor.

Say I want to install Codeblocks(C/C++ IDE) using Ubu
Starting from a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04.1 in late August, I have used the Ubuntu Software Center to install the so-called "decent selection" of TeX Live and also some additional TeX Live packages. To my astonishment I have now realized that (at least some of) the TeX Live packages are outdated!

I download a trial version of Crossover and started to install it using Ubuntu Software Center. As the install was about to finish it stopped and would not complete. I switched of and restated the Software Center but it is still trying to carry on installing.
Having issues downloading the newest version of ClipGrab http://clipgrab.de/en, I tried to install it in the terminal, tried finding the software in Ubuntu Software Center, I have even tried to extract the folder for which the software is in at, no luck...
When trying to install in the terminal it gives me an error about my ppa.
1) I can't install g++ in software center.
2) I can install other programs. For example, after I found g++ can't be installed, I installed chrome for test purpose through software center, and it worked!
3) g++ can be installed in the terminal via apt-get install. Only the software center way didn't work.
Who can tell me why this happens?
Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot comes with a better software management. For example, Ubuntu team has just updated the Ubuntu Software Center interface. To me, this new version of Ubuntu Software Center is easier to use and nicer compared to previous version. The search box is well placed at the top right of the main window. [...]
Ok. So I don't want to install something from the Software Center because that software for a particular package is out of date.
I have to compile a bunch of things. Is there a step by step process to compile a software. Ummm. Ok. I want flightgear 2.4. It won't install on Ubuntu 11.10. And only a lower version of flighgear will install from the software center.
