SMS/MMS Notification Setting Trouble

http://forums.androidcentral.com – I recently had to exchange my handset for a new one due to issues with the Gingerbread to ICS update, as well as what ultimately turned out to be a battery with blown cells. The new handset has ICS as the factory OS, and I have come across one issue that I just cannot seem to resolve. I previously had Handcent SMS set to use one very loud tone if I got a message from an alert system at work, while all others had a nice quiet tone. So I couldnt sleep through an issue :). However, with new device I have found the the default notification tone set from the OS settings is overriding any other a (HowTos)

Hi, hope you can assist with this annoying issue.... I tend to leave Galaxy Ace mob switched on for several days at a time (use it as an alarm clock) obviously recharging when required.

I found the option to turn off the water droplet sounding dial tone with now issue. However, I still have a dial tone issue.

I use my S3 for work related calls, including bridge calls. I dial a phone number (usually 1-800, etc) and I connect to the conference calling center, then I dial a pass code to join a specific conference/bridge.

Hi. I just started using go sms and I like it a lot except for one thing. It does not seem to have a tone for delivery reports. I don't mean a tone when the sms is sent but a tone for when it it delivered. I know that it has the report and I have it on however it would be convenient to have a tone too. Is there a setting that I don't know of where I can set it?

I only recently got my first smartphone, still busy setting preferences etcetera...

I managed to set a doorbell sound for notifications of SMS or whatsapp messages. That's great.

But tonight I was woken up by that stupid doorbell. When I looked in the morning, there was no message.

So I guess other notifications generate this tone, too.

Hello. Before I got my Android handset, I had a Samsung Eternity II which is a messaging phone and runs a proprietary (Samsung) OS. I'm interested in retrieving a notification sound from the phone to put on my current device and I haven't been able to find it anywhere. On the phone it's simply called "Message Tone 1" I believe.

I have separate notification sounds for gmail and for SMS messages. However, when I turn my phone off at night then turn it back on in the morning the gmail notification has reset to Silent and the SMS tone has reset to default tone. Any help greatly appreciated. I am on Android 4.1.2 :confused:

Anyone give me a pointer on how this is done?

Set one as my ringtone but a little trouble setting as message tone??
