Hi !
I have this input:
Code:
12{11}{11110}{80}3456
{123}15{60}9876{8083}34
I try to work on individual numbers between braces.
3 possible cases (here I used colours to be clearer only):
- there is no "0" among the characters between braces: so we don't touch anything.
- there is a "0" among characters between braces, and the number of characters between braces is >
Every time I send Chinese text messages, people can receive it, but when people send me Chinese messages, all I see it *** instead of 你好吗? All Chinese texts replace the hanzi (characters) for ******* asterisks. It really bothers me that I can't read characters.
Anyone know how to fix this? is this even fixable? is it a Metro issue?
I'm using IBus for pinyin in 11.10. A previous AskUbuntu poster mentioned that s/he increased font size to 14 point in Preferences.
I have a file input.txt which have loads of weird characters, html tags and useful materials. I want to display 35 characters after the word "description" excluding weird characters like $&lmp and without html tags in the new file output.txt. Help me. Thanx in advance. I have attached the input file. Please help me. It's urgent.

I'm currently trying to modify an echoed string of alphanumeric characters by piping it to sed. The area I'm interested in modifying is a block of numbers, which I would like to make 8 characters long by inserting an appropriate number of zeros to the front of it. For example:
Input:
loremipsumdolorsit2367amet
Desired output:
loremipsumdolorsit00002367amet
Is it possible to do this with sed?
Some webpages I go to seem to have blank square characters in the text where there should be a special character. Curious, I went ahead and opened a binary file in my text editor, KWrite.
