I've recently installed Ubuntu, but it was running too slow on my computer and I installed the lubuntu-core package through the Synaptic Manager. So now I'm using Lubuntu (sorry but I am a complete newbie and don't know how to check its version).
Anyway, my wifi connection speed is much slower now than it was on Windows.
I am running ubuntu 13.10 (saucy), dsl connection is normal with it's default speed no problem, i also installed the ubuntu 14.04 beta2 (trusty), suprisingly the dsl connection is running very slow in this version of ubuntu, i use the same pc an dsl router for both ubuntu 13.10 and 14.04 beta2, i use wired connection at the time.
Any idea please?
Ever since day one of getting the Note 3, I've been having problems with the USB connection. It doesn't matter if I turn on the USB 3.0 in the settings or use the MTP, to navigate the folders on the Note 3 from the computer (using Windows Explorer) is painfully slow.
I've been decided to try out ubuntu and i like it so far but one issue though, the download connection is really slow compare to windows. How do i fix this? i'm using a pc btw, running along side with windows 8, and i have a wired internet connection. Downloading Eclipse right now (252 mb only) but it's taking forever...
According to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944884, "when a large response or large responses are sent to a client over a slow network connection, the value of the time-taken field may be more than expected".
I have a situation where a client will say, "I sent a request to your web server at 10:03:24 and it took 20 seconds, why?".
I have problems with slow WiFi connection on my Lenovo notebook with Ubuntu 12.04. When I try to play MP3 or movie from my network / server connected to local network through WiFi, it plays really slow, buffer somehow. When I connect to network with cable, the speed is OK. WiFi signal is excellent.
My router broadcasts both a 2.4 GHz signal and a 5 GHz signal. Following an update of my computer to Ubuntu 14.04, my computer has poor connection with my router's 2.4 GHz signal. The speed is slow, even when right next to it, and the connection drops frequently at ranges it used to handle. Connection to the 5 GHz signal seems to work without issues.
