SLiM + XFCE4 systemd problems 36 weeks 6 days ago

I'm using slim with xfce4 too.after running [sudo systemctl enable slim.service] I also had to reinstall slim. [sudo pacman -S slim]everything was back to normal after that.I do still wonder how many other services I'm going to have to start in the future.

Hello, I'm posting because need a little help, I was using Legend 5 KK4, but I decide to try Slim ICS or Slim Bean, but everytime I flashed the ROM no phone because no imei no baseband, and the folder /efs is empty. Then I back to stock with Heimdall One click I897UCKK4 and made a backup from /efs folder, after flash again Slim ICS restore /efs bakcup but no imei nor baseband. What can I do?

After booting in to runlevel 3 if I startx the mouse and the keyboard doesnt work, so I couldn copy paste. In slim.log, at the end there is slim:waiting for X server to begin acceptingconnecions for a few times. I'll try and copypaste any other logs with a livecd.

disabling slim 25 weeks 4 hours ago

Hi, I am a new fedora user, I want to disable slim through systemd and use startx.

Code: systemctl disable slim.service it tells me Failed to issue method call:no such file or directory,

I can uninstall slim but when fedora starts,it gives me blank screen,I have to use ctrl+alt+F3 to go to tty and login.

Slim has some known issues with systemd. I haven't used slim since sysv init, so I cannot delve any deeper into that aspect. But I am glad to hear you found something that works for you.

Normally I wouldn't consider this worth sharing, except that the last update to Slim was slightly less than two years ago.Secondly, this may be the start of renewed active development of Slim, so maybe it can be reconsidered as a GDM replacement.BTW if anyone knows of a changelog, I'd be very interested to read it even if its only bugfixes.

I file a bug against slim fork: https://github.com/AeroNotix/slim-git/issues/1I hope it will be applied soon.Consider to put this fork in AUR as soon as it progress is significant.Regards,Xan.

Problems with SLiM 2 years 21 weeks ago

I was wanting to see what would happen if I removed GDM and replaced it with SLiM. So I installed Crunchbang in a virtual machine and it does not work right. When I get to the log in screen I enter my user name/password and then SLiM disappears and shows the command line and then reappears asking for my user name/password again.

I have just installed #! 20111125 i386 and have had a problem logging in using the slim display manager; nothing appears to happen; I just get sent back to the login screen with no message.Examining /var/log/slim.log I see... snip ... FATAL: Module fbcon no found. ...
