Sky/Fog/Lighting problems during gameplay GTA San Andreas on Ubuntu Quantal and Intel Mobile 4 Series

http://askubuntu.com – during the gameplay, while outside, I get problems in the rendering of what I guess would be lighting and/or weather effects. Even with Effects level to "low". The scenery is rendered properly, no texture missing, but is overlapped by single color polygons. With Effects level higher than "low", those rendering problems get worse, the sky is not rendered at all, with varying colors and contours of the scenery leaving traces in the sky. I am a newbie and I've been not able to get screenshots to spot. I'd appreciate if you could please help me, also in extracting the information needed from you i (HowTos)

Would I be able to use ubuntu special effects on normal or extra using a Intel GMA 950 graphics card? Im making a new computer and have never been able to use special effects in ubuntu.

Will I also be able to install compiz and use effects like the cube?

Also, the specs, are intel atom 1.6ghz 64 bit processor, and 2gb ram.

I recently updated my PC, included in said upgrade was a Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 560 Ti video card, unfortunately I now find myself unable to turn on even basic level desktop effects let alone start compiz.

When I first booted after upgrading I found myself at CLI and unable to startx due to problems with the nvidia drivers, I ended up downloading and installing the driver from nvidia's

I have a ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics card. I've seen in other posts that this has to do with the driver 'fglrx'. But when I do:

dmesg|grep 'fglrx'

Hi, I'm having some trouble running the Extra or Normal Settings in the Appearance/Visual effects setting on ubuntu 8.10 kernel 2.6.31-12. with an Intel GMA X4500HD. I get an error message that says "Desktop Effects could not be enabled."

I'm trying to get compiz to run and avant dock does not seem to respond either without the Visual effects enabled.
