http://serverfault.com – Trying to educate myself, so I have a few questions for the gurus out there. This VPS will be running wordpress and drupal sites. On a single user VPS with a Debian LAMP stack, whats the best way to serve websites from a non-root user home directory instead of /var/www while ensuring file/group ownership is user:user? I assume this is the best way to avoid changing owner/group of /var/www. Is suexec necessary given only a single non-root user? Should I use it anyway? Is PHP with FastCGI the defacto standard to use these days and when would you not? I noticed memory usage dropped by half on (HowTos)
