Hi Everybody,
I am facing some errors after the update is done:
Code:
Reading package lists...
Running Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit on a samsung laptop. I am trying to update my kernel in order to install the kernel with the fix (3.2.31, i think). But whenever I try to run sudo apt-get update I get the following error:
Fetched 154 kB in 2s (60.9 kB/s)

Hi
I did an upgrade today (-Syu) and also wanted to try the new Cinnamon package so I installed it. After doing these two things, I started getting the horribly unhelpful "Oh No! Something went wrong..." message; however, the fix from this posthttps://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=162555partially solved the problem.
I installed only the base debian package and during installation I did not select any of GUI window manager, laptop, or system utilities.
So basically I'm running debian from command line, now I want to set up a GUI just for desktop. For this I tried installing gnome-core by
apt-get install gnome-core
But is shows gnome-core as a 400MB archive, is the core package so big?
i have installed compiz settings through ubuntu software center and i have enabled the desktop cube and desktop rotation but when i tried to rotate the desktop it is not working.
i have also installed gnome 3.4 but i am getting the gnome classic desktop instead of gnome3.4 even though i am selecting GNOME at login and i didn't installed gnome games plugins because i was not able to download them
I installed the latest gnome3 from webupd8's ppas and somehow borked my system.
while doing a ppa-purge it somehow decided to remove the ubuntu-desktop meta package
now while i'm trying to get back to pure ubuntu, i try this:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
and get this:
ubuntu-desktop : Depends: eog but it is not going to be installed
Depends: gnome-control-center but it
