Even after great features and capabilities added in the recently released VLC 1.1, a major point of unrest among the fan community is the removal of the SHOUTcast Module. This used to be one of the most prominent features in VLC.

What can I do to have a dead simple way to launch an internet radio stream preferably with Amarok but other ideas welcome. I would like to just use an icon or something easy.
My wife and others I am sure have trouble locating the saved playlist in Amarok so I would like to have an icon she can click on to start a radio stream like this one http://wamu-1.streamguys.com/wamu-1.aac
I know that Shoutcast have not been officially supporting or even displaying links to Shoutcast TV streams for years, yet they have still managed to retain a toe-hold - right up until a few days ago, then everything just stopped working!
I'm trying to build a php/jquery panel for starting and stopping shoutcast dnas and Shoutcast Transcoder.
So far as i'm now everything is working but i ran into a problem.
If i start the shoutcast dnas from php and i start after that the shoutcast transcoder then the dnas process quit.
In my php script i use shell_exec and i have made two different functions to call it.
