BACKGROUND
system mac osx 10.7.5 running running ubuntu 12.04 on virtual box 4.8
My ubuntu 12.04 was working 12 hrs ago while using it I issued apt-get install git
AFAIK that was the only thing I changed in my system
as I boot my mac 12 hrs later I changed a setting in virtual box in enabled USB 2.0 (EHCI) controller
it said I need the virtual box extension pack
so I updated my VB to from 4.8 to
I installed Ubuntu 12.04 last week. Now I want to use windows 7 on ubuntu via virtualbox. I installed the virtualbox and created a new machine namely 'windows 7', im booting through an iso image... when i start the virtual machine it does not run.
After rummaging through the VirtualBox Virtual Machine Settings -- trying to find out how to use a host device (in this case a USB flash drive) in a VirtualBox SAS controller -- in an endless loop, I feel hopeless.
Here's my reason for the use of a system block device in a virtual machine:
You see, this VM is a 64-bit VM designed to emulate a 64-bit system on a 32-bit processor. Why?
I've just installed ubuntu using VirtualBox on Windows 7, and everything went fine.
I'm trying to add new folders using the file system browser, but Create New Folder is disabled in any system folder. It works within my user folder though. Have I configured the virtual HDD incorrectly?
And here is my VirtualBox config:
SATA Controller
AHCI
Port Count: 1
I have ubuntu 12.04 installed with virtualbox 4.1.12. I have a windows 7 professional 32-bit virtualmachine with a bridged network adapter inside virtualbox. I've given a static ip to this machine with all ports open on both host and virtual machine (for now) but people outside of my network can't remote into the virtual machine, just the host.

I'm at my wit's end with an issue I have with with multiple Virtualbox windows run fullscreen under Unity. When I click the Virtualbox icon on the Dash, the last-accessed Virtualbox window opens.
