Shortcut to a folder on desktop

view story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – So I have a mounted a samba shared drive (it contains all my files at uni) which when I connect via VPN I can access all the files in there... that was the hard part to set up. What I'd like to do now is put a shortcut to open the file manager to the directory /mnt/leeds on my desktop, but have no idea how to. I have already installed gnome-tweak-tool and do have the capacity to store icons on the desktop... but the rest is totally alien to me. I am relatively new to linux - I am starting to get the hang of terminal, but this just eludes me... I can't find a way to this. Any help would be a (HowTos)
