I've setup a VPN connection using RRAS on Windows Server 2008 and clients are able to connect through the firewall.
However, RRAS is not assigning a DNS suffix to the clients when they connect.
I know how to set the client to automatically add the DNS suffix on the client side (through the IPv4 Advanced properties) but I'd like to configure things on the server side to automatically set this.

I have RRAS running (Windows 2008 R2) on my server to provide PPTP VPN connection in order to share the server Internet with users.
Users are able to connect to the server and I can see them on Remote Access Client List (RRAS), but when they connect, status is NOT a NAP-Capable and they are unable to connect to the internet.
I don't need NAP and anything like that at all.
I am setting up a RRAS machine for my personal use and for use by a few of my friends. I am currently using Windows Server 2012; but I have tried this with Windows Server 2008 R2. Both systems didn't quite work as expected.
I have tried getting OpenVPN to work on Debian 6 but had no luck.
I have 2 soon to be 4 servers in rackspace cloud, they are windows 2008 64 bit r2 machines. I am trying to set up a private network with which I can VPN into.
I run a small business network and the last couple of days I have been setting up some equipment to add VPN capabilities to our network. I've got the following set up:
Windows 2008 R2 with RRAS - 172.22.200.50
Cisco RV082 router - 172.22.100.1 / 172.22.200.1
The Cisco router only support DHCP on a single class C network; 172.22.100.0/24.
Summary: how do I create an RDC connection from a Windows 2008 server to another server?
Our client will only allow us to connect to their server via a static IP address (which is fair enough), but unfortunately as we're a very small company we don't have one in the office.
As a work around, we had the connection working through our old Windows 2003 server (dynamic-cloud from 1and1). ..
The problem is: users can connect (vpn) multiple times using same username & password.
It's a Windows 2008 R2 server, without AD.
I want to limit them to one vpn connection per username.
I need something like logonlimit that works on win2008.
I know there are 3rd party apps like: UserLock
I have no idea if I can do this using NPS or not?
Any answer that can put me in the right direction
i have hosted w2003 RRAS in my network succesfully ( Natting with one public IP )
i need to host another RRAS setup same like above with different private IP address and public IP's,.
when i configured so, both w2003 servers got frozen and internet got Disconnected..
How can i host 2 RRAS in the same network, i am using RRAS to limit bandwidth for computers running private ip's through bandwithc
I am trying to configure a (relatively!) simple VPN on my Windows Server 2008 R2 box.
