http://serverfault.com – I am a bit new to vlan, so forgive me if I ask noob question. I am trying to setup a vlan on my netgear switch (GS105E). I want to create 2 separated networks and I want both of them have internet access. My setup is Modem connect to router WRT54G (with dd-wrt) connect to netgear switch I have configured port 1 and port 5 as vlan1 and port 2 to port 4 as vlan2. I plugged cable from router to port 5 and port 1 computer has internet access. However, port 2 to port 4 computers have no internet access. I was wondering if I did something wrong. Please help me. I have a Cisco CE500 switch and created 4 vlans define by the roles in the switch. Vlan 2: Servers (role) (port 3-4) Vlan 3: Desktop (role) (port 5-8) Vlan 4: Guest (role) (port 9-12)

Vlan 1 is default, Connect to the ADSL Modem/Router Port 2 assign to the Router Role (vlan 1)
