I have set the rules in ufw for Transmission but when I try to use it it will not transfer and it also says the port is closed when checked under preferences.
If I turn the UFW firewall off it still says that the port is closed but it transfers fine. I then can turn the UFW back on and it continues to work.
Hi, friends. I recently upgraded my installation from 10.04 (32) to 12.04 (64). I installed Transmission from USS, and it runs alright. It was able to read and verify my torrents/data just fine. However, it is unable to download any new torrents - it won't connect to peers, and AFAICT it will likewise not connect to any peers to seed.
Transmission says my port is closed. If I google the problem, it just gives me advice on how to open a port in Windows OS. There's no firewall in Ubuntu 10.10 by default, right? There isn't any router used neither. I'm living in a dorm. I just plug the LAN cable in the box fixed to the wall. Hope you guys can help me out.
Cheers
Hello,
I have an headless ubuntu server with two NICs and set internet sharing according to
this tutorial http://codeghar.wordpress.com/2012/0...d-dhcp-server/
Everything is just fine, but i have some problems with magnet link torrent uploading.
So how can I make a port-forwarding for Transmission port - 51413?
I have a problem with port forwarding on a wimax modem : HUAWEI BM632w
I configured all, but it doesn't work. when I send a request on port 80 of modem, that is forwarding on our Linux server, It raise a timeout error and doesn't work..
I don't know what is problem?
I should mention that we have an IP static on our wimax modem.
fozzyb@crunchbang:~$ uname -aLinux crunchbang 2.6.28-13-generic #45-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 30 19:49:51 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/LinuxProcessor AMD64bit 1.3GHz memory512MB
i need to establish remote Wmi Connection From ms Windows server2008 With a static Ports.
I know that WMI calls uses port 135 and then chooses a random port, what I would like to know is if WMI can be set for a static port?
Yes i Have Already Read THIS: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb219447(VS.85).aspx
But i don't want do it on all clients i'm looking for a server-side soloution not cli
Now I know how to set up port forwarding on a router so this is not that. yea.
What I want to do is, if possible, connect from Computer A to computer B and use computer B as a proxy for all of the Transmission (bit torrent) connections. I know how to do this with DNS, Http, etc etc but I'm not quite sure how to go at this with torrenting.
I use an application called Proxoid to connect to the internet via my moto Droid using android adb forward. Turns my cell into a little proxy server or something.
This works great on firefox and in synaptic package manager because they both have options to use a manual proxy. i just put in localhost 8080
I have a few problems still though:
