Hi,
In my shell script I am using the zip command to zip the log files. The zip file is password protected. But there is a dicey.
I want the output as:
1) All files should be zipped including sub-directories' files
2) All files (individually) should be Password protected (may be common or different)
3) User should feed the password as input just once.
Condition 1 is met.
On the one hand I have a lot of tar files created with gnu format, and on the other hand I have a tool that only supports pax (aka posix) format. I am looking for an easy way to convert the existing tar files to pax format - without extracting them to the file system and re-create the archives.
GNU tar supports both formats.

So ive bought my new 64 gb sd card. I had a few avi files and mkv files that i had downloaded via utorrent. The videos work conpletely fine on my internal storage but when I move these files to my sd card the files say "cannot play this video" I assumed it had to be the format so I downloaded a converter and converted them to mp4 format.

Using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and Rhythmbox 0.12.8. First issue was I could not get MP3 to show as a "Preferred format", but then installed the "gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse package"; MP3 was then a "Preferred format" option.
Now that MP3 is the preferred format, the CD is ripped in a "flac" format. Is there some conversion?
I m trying to extract some .rar files. I simply right click and left click on "extract here". It works fine, I enter a password (these .rar files are password protected) and it extracts them. Its a DVD iso, broken up into 14 200mb packages, but when extracted they are all 4.4Gb (all have the same file name as well, not part 1, 2 etc) and clearly wont fit onto one disc.
