Setting up minecraft server on Amazon ec2

http://serverfault.com – Perhaps this is considered too frivolous a question, but I'm trying to set up a Minecraft server on ec2. I've been doing micro instances for now, because I want to see how well it works before committing to pay for it. Everything needed to host the minecraft server is in a dropbox folder. (For Windows, it's a single .exe with associated files the server uses, and for Ubuntu/Mac it's a jar.) My first attempt was to get a Windows Server 2008 AMI. I associated it with an elastic IP, opened port 25565 for minecraft, and synced dropbox to it. I was able to run the server successfully, but not co (HowTos)
