I'm looking for people to help test it across a variety of android devices. Most seem to work just fine.. but there are the occasional ones that just don't play ball. You can also record a ringtone and send that ... and when you ring your friend next, that'll play !! (You can switch off automatic downloading and installing too). The app is called "tonepush". I downloaded a free ringtone app from Google Play to set my notifications to a custom tone. But recently, it hasn't been playing. I thought by uninstalling the app and reinstalling, it would work. It hasn't, and no other tones work either, even default ones. The only sound that plays is the Facebook Pop one.

I have an Android app that plays a notification ringtone (RingtoneManager.TYPE_NOTIFICATION) when certain events are sent to a BroadcastReceiver.

The code that plays the ringtone basically does:

I have a problem with the default ringtone. The factory default ringtone is "curve ball blend". I have spent many an hour looking for that ringtone in my phone so I can delete it, but I can't find it.

Can anyone explain why my custom ringtones play normally when I am choosing which one to use, yet once they are assigned as the ringtone they play as if they are Ascending Ringtones? I see no setting to adjust ringtone style (or I have been overlooking it for 3 days).

I've bought my first Android phone (Note 2) and installed almost all the applications I had before on Samsung Galaxy Player (not a phone). It worked fine but I've found that sometimes an unknown ringtone started to ring without any notification, sometimes at night.

I work on call therefore need to have my phone available to ring during the night. But what I don't need is SMS notifications, Facebook messages etc waking me up.

I've found various Apps but nothing seems to do the trick.

i hope you guys can help.. i still have an original droid.. i have used google voice exclusively for txt msgs.. and for calls but recently an update had messed things up.. i no longer get notified when i get a txt msg.. i went in and checked and it does show that notifications are on and its supposed to play a ringtone and vibrate.. however it doesnt do it now since the update..
