http://crunchbang.org – thanks to the good doctor.i have it set up nicely now, with arandr. both screens side by side in native resolution.i can save the layout, and arandr creates a shell script (an xrandr oneliner) that can be executed conveniently by xinitrc.openbox somehow seems to magically accept the native resolutions, meaning if i drag a maximized window from one screen to the other it always fills exactly the whole screen.lxpanel does not - i have to shorten it to the exact width of the higher monitor, aligned to the edge, so it's on one screen only. but that's ok.also my wallpapers now have to be (HowTos)
