Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 12.04 (32).
I have a graphic card:
Intel corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller
and monitor:
Acer, max resolution 1920x1080
After installation of the OS I have options only from VESA (output of xrandr):
***
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 1280 x 1024
default connected 1280x1024+0
When I run xrandr I have this output:
barsoom@ubuntu:/etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu$ sudo xrandr
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768

1024x768 0.0* 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Device 9647Im using a toshiba satellite L745D-s4230 with AMD processor and radeon graphics; I want to get 1368X768 as well,
In this question I'm asking how to install a compatible driver to a Fedora machine, but, the main problem is a bad resolution.
So, how can I find the best resolution to my monitor and put it to work?
Please answer me with a complete solution or a successfully tutorial.
Some system info is:
$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Fam
is it a driver problem that default resolution is not set. please help

OK. So I have been trying my native resolution monitor, of 1440x900. It always stretches to standard 1280x720 and I can't see all of the screen.
