I want to start by saying I do like Google Now and its Now cards idea in JB.
But I am annoyed with the feature that trigger Google Now by swiping from the soft keys. It makes some apps' edge enabling features useless.
For instance, I always do that edge-to-edge swipe to switch tabs in Chrome. But when you're in landscape mode, one of that edge is shared with the soft keys.
I picked up a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 yesterday and found that the Pocket eDGe's stylus and Note's S-Pen are compatible. Which is great because I use my edge as my primary note taking device and e-reader, but I often am holding my Note's S-pen.
I have used Ubuntu Tweak to set a custom login screen background, which works well.
I would now like to instead set a very wide image as the desktop background, with the following layout properties:
adjust the size of the image to fill the height of the screen
adjust the width of the image proportionally
fix the right edge of the image to the right edge of the screen

I'm trying to install Fedora 16, 64 bit, on a Toshiba Satellite C855-S5206. Single hard drive, 8GB RAM. I did have Ubuntu 12.1 running on it, but I don't like its interface much. No other installed OS. In the install sequence of windows (screens) the screen appears left/right split. In that the right side of the screen is to the left of what should be the left edge.
As we reported a couple weeks ago, Motorola has an event planned for next week on September 5th in New York in conjunction with Verizon Wireless. We have surmised that both Motorola DROID RAZR HD and a Motorola DROID RAZR M devices will be released.
My 2 year old daughter stepped and broke my lcd screen of my EE. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement screen or compatible screen? I love my Edge, and I don't want to retire it just yet.
I broke my Note 2 (n7100) screen. I had just the screen repaired by a local cell phone repair guy. (bought just the screen on ebay for $25). For the most part. It's back to the same note 2 that I love. but it does lose screen connection (when I swipe, nothing happens), so I just turn the screen off and then back on. But I love this phone!
I'm using Gnome Classic and it tends to move windows to the edge of screen without my will.
I can't leave a window partially off-screen (it moves into the screen once I've switched to another app)
Sometimes Nautilus window placed in center of the screen moves down to the edge of the screen again and again.
Where is the magic checkbox to stop that?
Canonical has unveiled a new Ubuntu Phone OS, featuring a UI optimized for small screen.
The interface uses same design principles as Unity for desktop (home screen, lenses, scopes, etc), but everything has been adapted to be touch friendly and suitable for mobile devices.
