As soon as I entered the brightness and lock settings window the brightness starts to flicker and jitter uncontrollably and the brightness slider is gone.

Visible Brightness Slider in Statusbar
Many of you may not be satisfied with the auto brightness feature(including me) and i like to adjust to my usage
and it will be cool enough to have brightness slider in statusbar
Ive themed it such that its background gets adjusted to the applied theme

I recently got my LG G2 repaired after shattering the front glass by dropping it on the street. The repairer seems to have done a half baked job. After repair, the brightness of the screen is unable to go above 50%. Raising the brightness slider up to 50% raises the real brightness of the screen normally, but past 50% there is no perceptible effect.
I have a Sony E Series laptop with Fedora 17 and Windows 8 in dual boot.
The brightness adjusts just fine on my Windows8 but not in Fedora. If I change it with the brightness slider in the power settings nothing happens.
One of my big concerns about the display, prior to purchasing the phone, was the ability to see the screen in direct sunlight. After going through the initial setup, I went to check the brightness slider. With Auto Brightness on, I noticed the similar thing that other reviewers had mentioned (where the screen didn't get that much more bright, when using the slider).
I'm not able to adjust brightness on my laptop, neither from the GUI tool nor via my laptop's built in FN keys. The prompt for brightness does come up, and the slider moves, but it has no effect and my laptop remains stuck on the highest brightness settings possible.
