Hello everybody,I have a Vaio S13 laptop with a Nvidia 310M graphics card. For some time now I have been having a recurring problem with the brightness controls.
Hello everybody,
My laptop is a Sony Vaio S13 laptop with a Nvidia 310M graphics card. Ever since I installed Ubuntu on it (11.10, now running 12.04) I have been having a recurring problem with the brightness controls.
I am using Sony Vaio VPCCW15FN/R model..I am running Live Ubuntu 12.10 using USB.The problem I am facing is that after booting, in Ubuntu i am unable control brightness.I can control volume using Fn key shortcut but not brightness..i got to know that its Nvidia Graphics card issue..Due to extreme brightness, I am getting lots of stretch on my eyes..Please help ASAP..Thanks in advance.!
I installed ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop for first time and every thing work well but the only thing doesn't work is the brightness doesn't change when i press F5 and F6 with Fn
So i can't adjust the Brightness and sometimes i need to decrease it for more time working on battery
and the bubble appear that it changed but nothing happen
my laptop is Sony VAIO series F with NVIDIA GEFORCE ...
and
Hardware: 13" MacBook Pro 5,5 (Summer 2009), GeForce 9400M.
OS: Ubuntu 12.04.2 AMD64
My hardware and OS are similar to what some others with this problem had, but what worked for them doesn't work for me.
Unfortunately, with the nvidia driver, the brightness controls (F1 and F2) do not work - no feedback at all.
I've installed Ubuntu on a Lenovo Y500 laptop (2012), video card is Nvidia 650M (no integrated graphics), I'm using driver 310.19. The problem is that I can't adjust brightness at all.
I installed Ubuntu 12.10 on a Sony vpc cw18gf.
I can not decrease or increase brightness and my Fn key does not work.
My brightness and lock settings are as in this image:
