I got 5 servers where i need to lock them down so as standard there is only read only access to the C drive and a couple of other servers where full admin access is required all the time. There is a need however that out of the 5 servers that are locked down all the time a user can request access and they be moved into an approved security group for that server.
We came into work this morning, had were constantly getting calls about people not being able to access the internet from our 2003 terminal serv.
As it turned out, they could, but only after a few minutes of IE trying to automatically detect proxy settings.
When setting user's up in the past, we have always unticked this option in IE's connection window, but for some reason, it has decided to ti
We run 22 XA6 off of one image through a provisioning server. We also run another 5 doing the same thing (but these 5 do not publish desktops). Now on the 22 servers we have, we will come in on any random morning and find that the Citrix user profiles are gone and that the Citrix profile manager policy has not applied to any 22 of these servers.
I have two windows 2008 R2 Terminal servers and have given users access to both server to keep redundancy/ load sharing.
How to restrict users from logging on both servers at same time?
Rather than setting logon time restrictions on each user account, we would like to apply it via group policy to a security group. Is this possible?
Note that I am asking to set the restriction times in one location for many users, not for the policy setting that enables the enforcement of the restriction times.

I have 3 computers, two of which are servers running Windows Server 2008 and another running Windows 7.
One of the servers has the following roles installed; Active Directory, DHCP and DNS. The other server has a Terminal Server role installed.
I am fairly new to administrating servers, but I have been charged with the task of working out remote access to the company's network.
The general plan is to connect through a VPN to a terminal server connected to the network.
The users will then connect to the network in an RDP session which we will configure to prevent files from being taken off the network and moved onto remote machines.
One Domain user with laptop is gone abroad. I had change some user policy for that Domain User. I have connected his laptop via internet through VPN to my Local Network.
I am getting the following error, when i am trying to update the policy, however i am able to successfully update the computer policy ( please see the print-screen )
