I have a Sapphire 6990 with an aftermarker cooler by Artic Cooler. I had it Crossfired with a 6970, but then I upgraded to 680gtx SLI.
Runs pretty darn quiet and way cooler than stock. This will take up 3 slots when installed in a PC. I couldn't stand how loud the card got on the stock cooler, I had to install this cooler and it was worth it.
Does Sapphire allow the removal of the stock cooler? XFX doesnt this time around, they clearly have labels on the bolts which will void warranty. I have an EK waterblock on the way and need to a card which will allow me to install the waterblock without voiding warranty.
Going to change my rig a bit to SLi 780 Lightnings. So up for sale is one of my R9 290's. The card does NOT unlock to an X, never really pushed it after 1000 on the core or increased voltage, just wanted the better cooling and less sound.
One of the 2 is pending sale until this weekend, the card still comes with the factory cooler as well as the factory box.
All prices are shipped. PayPal only.
I do take offers, but please keep it real.
2 X EVGA GeForce GTX TITAN SuperClocked Signature + Arctic Accelero Xtreme 3 Cooler . Comes with original warranty, which still has 2.5yrs left. Includes the card only, the original cooler/box/accessories are not included.
The crew at ThinkComputers seem mighty impressed with the Sapphire R9 280X Vapor-X Tri-X OC they just reviewed. I don't want to ruin the surprise but I think it is safe to say a score of 10/10 means they liked it. ;)
Sapphire originally released their R9 280X Vapor-X back when the R9 280X’s were launched.
