Considering Samsung continues to churn out powerhouse after powerhouse, it’s fairly conceivable that it has its sights on developing even better and more powerful processors for future devices, right? It sure seems to be the case as Sammy is rumored to be developing an even faster version of its quad-core Exynos processor line.
It appears Samsung has another SoC known as the Exynos 5210. As pictured above, Linux dev tools were committed to a smdk5210 at Free-electrons.com. Unfortunately we don’t have much to go on, but it very well could be a quad-core that features the same big.LITTLE technology that’s in the Exynos Octa-core 5410.
Yesterday at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference, Samsung showed their new Exynos chip, which can come in dual-core and quad-core configurations. Frequencies range from 200 MHz to 1.5 GHz, and it’s 32nm part, which is down from 45nm with the previous chip.

When the first ARM Cortex-A15 SoCs started rolling out in devices I found the dual-core A15 performance to be crazy fast for ARM and still find the Cortex-A15 performance to be great for low-power devices.
Today, Samsung has unveiled a brand new Exynos ModAp processor that features an integrated 4G LTE modem. This is a quad-core SoC that supports both regular LTE speeds as well as LTE Advanced. At the very least, it is now possible to achieve at least 150Mbps.
Look up. Yeah, that’s not an ad on our site… that’s a screenshot of an ad for the Rogers Samsung Galaxy S III, snapped by an Android Central reader doing online research on Samsung’s latest. The important thing to notice is that the ad has the phone sporting an Exynos quad-core processor as well as LTE.
As everyone knows, the international HTC One X has the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and to make things work with LTE, they created the HTC One XL that is essentially the same phone, but with the dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4. This is essentially what is available on AT&T, but marketed as the One X, a little confusing I know. Now Samsung did the same thing with their Galaxy S III.
