i've got 2 samsung laptops (Samsung NP550P5C-S01IN & Samsung NP350V5C-S06IN)
i've read it recntly that BOOTiNG linux in samsung laptops bricked them permanently (http://m.tech2.com/news/software/booting-linux-bricks-some-samsung-windo...)
i wish to install Ubuntu on both of these but
i want to know if i can install ubuntu in any one of them without bricking them permanently.
From PC World:

So I have a Samsung Series 3:
samsung series 3 np365e5c-S03US
And I want to install Ubuntu, but I'm worried about the UEFI bug that the kernel has where other Series laptops have been bricking after. Anyone have this particular kind of laptop and know if it works or if I should wait til 13.04 for the new kernel?
Hi.
The new version (link) of ubuntu fixed the bricking problem (link) that has been uncovered some Samsung laptops?
Is it save to install ubuntu 12.10 or 12.04 in dual boot with windows 8 in a samsung laptop?
Thank you
I saw these laptops at the Ubuntu website.

It says here that these laptops are certified by Ubuntu. It says that these laptops are certified. Particularly I am looking at the laptops with hybrid graphics, but how sure am I that these laptops will run well under Ubuntu? Is the driver pre-installed?
Just wanted to share a frustrating experience here with you all in the hopes of saving someone else from the same situation.
I was trying to migrate a Fedora 17 install between similar Lenovo laptops. I decided to use UEFI exclusively when I first installed Fedora 17 and was happy with how well it worked.

Il bug è stato segnalato sul bugtracker di Ubuntu e pare che qualcosa impedisca ad
