While Samsung has the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II as its heavyweights for 2012, it has plans on bringing in more players to the fight as well. Reports of no less than 3 Samsung smartphones have now surfaced: the Galaxy S III Mini, Galaxy S II Plus, and Galaxy Premier.
Samsung announced four new Android 2.3 Galaxy smartphones, as well as a new naming scheme for the Galaxy product line. The new phones include the Galaxy W (3.7-inch, 1.4GHz), the QWERTY-enabled Galaxy M Pro (2.66-inch, 1GHz), the Galaxy Y (three-inch, 832MHz), and the keyboard-ready Galaxy Y Pro, according to the company....
This evening in New York City, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S. The tablet comes with either an 8.4-inch or 10.5-inch display. Being that Samsung makes the tablet, both sizes come with a Super AMOLED display. The resolution is 2560×1600 with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The Galaxy Tab S uses Adaptive Display to make adjustments depending upon the viewing environment.
If this isn’t Samsung’s newest Galaxy Media Player then honestly, we don’t know what it is. It looks as if it’s sharing the bezel and overall design of the Galaxy S III while also sharing most of the same widgets and applications. The new media player will rock an eye-popping 5.8 inch screen – a full inch larger than the Galaxy S III (measured diagonally).
Back in January we heard about a Samsung device destined for Europe called the Galaxy Fonblet. Some thought it was going to be a media player only, but it looks like it will be classified as a tablet. Back in January it was expected to sport a 5.8-inch display, but it is now confirmed to have a 6.3-inch display.
If you went into a cave three years ago and just came out, you probably would be shocked at the size of some of the displays that smartphones have been sporting. I remember when the DROID X was released and everyone was saying it was huge. Now that same screen size is on the DROID RAZR M (M for micro). Then there was the original Samsung Galaxy Note, which boasted a 5.3-inch display.
Samsung has announced the Galaxy S III Neo+, a dual-SIM smartphone for China. We thought too that the next device announcement from the company would be the Galaxy Note 3 Neo. This device, however, is designed very similarly to the Galaxy S III from 2012. Behind its 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
