Hello everybody i hope some one could help me regarding samba.. i am running a FC13 acting as a samba server & an IP of 192.168.0.3.. I have already installed samba from the fedora core repo.. I can see my samba server on my winxp client.. but everytime i tried to access the samba share a windows message appears
am using fedora 17 with ubuntu and windows machines for educational purposes
i installed samba, disable SElinux, configure firewall to work with samba and i can access fedora samba shares but my fedora can't access other computer's samba shares with the graphic file manager only on terminal using this commands:
smbclient //192.168.1.4/Downloads

I have set up a small server with openvpn and samba shares.
Everything else works fine except one Thinkpad laptop computer running Fedora 17 and KDE 4.8.5 can't access the shares over VPN.
So that's ehat I have found out so far:
* Everything is OK at the server side, as I can access the shares over VPN using other computers (Win7 and Android, connected to same VPN).
* The Thinkpad *is* conne

I have about 5 network devices that SAMBA does not see however 1 bangs right up every time. how can improve the number of shares/machines that samba sees.
The local network consist of 2 iomega storage units 3 windows xp mschines and 3 fedora 16 machines. all but this 1 function normally.

Iam running a file server with samba. I connect via a wireless AP to the server with a laptop running win7. I can access the shares no problem but am having an issue where my samba server does not show up under network in on the laptop. Should I want to add another share to win7 I have to do it manually.
I've recently upgraded a Fedora 11 install being used as a Samba server on a small network to Fedora 12 via preupgrade. Upon reboot, I was not able to connect to the server. I found that shutting down SELinux and recreating the (only) user for the server allowed connection to the shares.
