Hi All,I am new in LINUX and setting on Samba Ldap domain controller, my domain is working perfectly with domain users login into Window client Operating system, but i want to implement... [by jitenderana]
On all of my xp clients no matter what the username is is I am continously getting the error saying that the profile cannot be found. I just built this domain recently and since day 1 the roaming profiles have not worked.
I want to build active domain controller master - master as below:
1 server run windows server 2008 R2 make domain controller
1 server run CentOS 6.4 make LDAP + SAMBA
Can I do this problem?
Now, My system have one LDAP+SAMBA do Primary domain controller, but I want to build SQL server cluster, to do this, I must have two server run windows server which are joined domain controller.
Has anybody got users on Windows Samba clients setting their passwords on first logon or expiration? For any combination of Samba username/password backend, Samba as domain controller or standalone, Windows clients as domain members or standalone.
A domain controller is a server which groups multiple computers to centralize their authentication system. When you are using a domain controller, you don't login to your computer, but instead login to the domain controller. Every authentication request is handled by the Primary Domain Controller (PDC).
I have Samba setup and running nicely as a primary domain controller with roaming profiles. Currently users can log on to the domain controller from any machine in the network.
However, I want to know if its possible to prevent users from logging on from specific machines on the network (for example, there may be certain machines that only a subset of domain users should have access to).
