Agreed, it would be wonderful for an XFCE version of #!. However, I do understand #!'s focus and mission to develop one really solid environment. Installing XFCE and removing Openbox/Tint is pretty easy, but will take a little time. An alternative for those who would like a XFCE distro (Debian Wheezy based) out-of-the-box experience, I'll suggest a stroll over to SalineOS.

i just ran across this yesterday, and it has everything >i< would expect from a debian+xfce install pre-configured, even the non-free codecs stuff etc. (which is optional). surprisingly slim with the wave theme is the default login manager, which also exactly matches my personal taste:http://www.salineos.com/you may want to check it out & let me know what you think ! :)
