The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is by all accounts the next big thing, but its predecessor isn’t dead just yet. Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile announced today at the CTIA that they will offer a 4G LTE-capable Galaxy S3 beginning next month.

Looks like Samsung, Boost and Virgin Mobile are planning a get-together for an announcement in New York on August 22nd. Other than the “Join us for big mobile news” sign on the image, nothing else has been said from either party on what this announcement entails. Our guess is an announcement of a new Samsung phone, perhaps their release of the Samsung Galaxy S III?
Leaked earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G in Titanium is Boost Mobile’s newest prepaid handset. The device is essentially a re-purposed Galaxy S II, sporting the same specifications of Samsung’s 2011 flagship smartphone.
Virgin Mobile is poised to start offering the Samsung Galaxy S II this coming week. According to sources, Virgin will make the device available for $369.99 starting on Thursday, November 15th. The device will be available in titanium and white. Users can then opt for a $35 per month plan. Although the Galaxy S II is now a generation old, the device remains popular.
