Hello,
I was not sure where to post this so I put it in programming talk. I have been wanting to learn C++ for a while now. I purchased a book a long time ago, at the least it was over 5 years ago. The book is SAMS Teach Yourself C++ in 24 hours Second Edition.
I am running F17 and use SMB4K and Samba to share stuff on my local Lan with Windows PCs.
When I boot up SMB4K cannot find this F17 install unless I restart nmb which is running on boot.
I have a Lepan II tablet. I'm pretty sure it has some sort of hardware type of problem because I'm running into issue despite doing various things like restoring to factory, upgrading to ICS, etc.
The problem is it freezes when it sleeps. Essentially it doesn't wake up from sleep. It works great when I'm running programs, but as soon as I step away from it, I have to reset it to get back on.
So I'm just starting out with perl (literally just got the book for learning it yesterday) and one of the exercises, was making this program in text editor in ubuntu:
#!/usr/bin/perl
print "Hello, world!\n";
then I went and saved it and it said I have to identify it as an executionable file or something like that.
Hello community! I'm setting up my first linux fileserver for Windows clients and am having some problems properly setting up the shares. I have a shared folder via Samba where multiple users (who are organized by group) should have permissions of rwxrwx--- (0770).
Hey thereI have been using linux for a little over a year now and I am getting an extra laptop ready to solely run a lightweight distro of linux and decided to go with crunchbang.
What is Linux?
Linux is an operating system created by Linus Torvalds during his days as a student at the University of Helsinki. Linux was created and meant to be used as an option or substitute to the other operating systems being used by computer users, like MS-DOS, Windows, Mac OSX, etc. Linux is not a program or a set of programs like a word processor of an office suite.
Linux Training – Installing Linux on a Windows System
By Clyde E. Boom
The best way to get Linux training and Linux administration experience is to start by getting, installing and running Linux on a system. This allows you to actually work with Linux to run programs and learn Linux commands.
Hello, im trying to master linux permissions.
Right now, i need so much flexibility managing my new samba shares.
Imagine 2 departments in a company:
administration (anne, jessica)
desing (robert, july)
Ok, both administration and desing are 2 groups with those users.
In my 2003server shares, i can add as much groups as i need, and also users.
