http://www.linuxquestions.org – I need to run a script at startup on a KDE/Ubuntu machine, but the script requires Internet access, so it must not run until my Internet connection is established. I have Wifi connection initiated by Network Manager Applet, which launches quite a few seconds after KDE is running, so /etc/rc.d/local will not help me here. Or rather, well, the script may/should run before the GUI is up and running and Network Manager has established the Wifi connection, but it needs to be able to tell whether there is Intern (HowTos)
