[Rumor] Xperia Nexus from Sony, Optimus Nexus from LG and Galaxy Nexus II from Samsung might be in the works

http://www.talkandroid.com – If you remember, several months ago it was reported that Google would offer several Nexus devices later this year, and we reported that they would announce five such devices on Android’s 5th birthday. Since then the rumormill has been quiet except for this morning’s news on a Galaxy Nexus with some minor spec bumps. Just like last year at this time, the rumors started flowing hot and heavy, and it appears we are in for another ride. I have to be honest with you guys, this year’s news and rumors for the upcoming Nexus or Nexi devices seems to be a lot slower than last year. It’s possible things are just starting to heat up because we have some more information from Android and Me. According to sources LG will definitely have a Nexus device, and it will be called the LG Optimus G Nexus.

A list of devices from a manufacturer in china shows the following three devices as the Google Nexus Devices.

LG Optimus Nexus (L-08E: Optimus NEXUS -NFC waterproof · Xi · NEXT · Capless (TypeA / B / C))

Sony Xperia Nexus (SO-04E: Xperia NEXUS -Xi-NEXT-NFC (TypeA / B / C))

I don’t know about you guys, but it seems like this year’s Nexus just wasn’t kept as quiet as last year’s. I also don’t think the anticipation is as high. Maybe it’s because it’s going to be made by LG or maybe it’s the fact that it probably won’t have LTE capability.

Here’s a rumor to get your Friday Happy Hour going. We have already heard about the Motorola X phone and some think it’s a Nexus device, while other reports say that it won’t be. The latest rumor coming out of the Droid Forums is that won’t be a Nexus device, but it will be the first device to feature Key Lime Pie. Furthermore, it will be announced at Google I/O.

Here’s something interesting for your Monday morning. Images of a Nexus X showed up on Picasa. No other information was specified, but in looking at the EXIF data, the pics were taken with a Galaxy Nexus. That in itself tells us nothing and there is no reason to know if these are fake or not. We did hear rumblings about a possible Xperia Nexus in August, but nothing else since.

Nexus phones were never complete spec beasts as in one or two items always seemed to trail other high-end devices. The Nexus S had a mediocre CPU, the Galaxy Nexus had a horrible camera, and the Nexus 4 didn’t offer an LTE option. While most high-end phones in 2013 will probably sport a 1080p display, this week’s rumor says the Nexus 5 won’t.

Google is about to throw down. At next week’s NYC Android event, the big G is expected yell “me too!” and reveal a full line of Nexus devices. Watch out, Mr. Consumer. These devices aren’t just for the nerds.

Google will be delivering Android 4.2 updates to owners of its Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy 7 devices over-the-air, and likely very soon, but if you’re just not able to wait, there’s a way to update manually right now using firmware downloads found on Google’s servers.

Google is in the process of rolling out Android 4.2.1 to at least Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 devices (with Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus hardware likely to follow) as an over-the-air update, Android Central reports. The minor update brings a fix for an embarrassing omission on Google’s part: The month of December.
