They’ve been hinting at it for more than a year now. Rovio has long said that the Angry Birds universe isn’t limited to the vantage point of the birds. The pigs, in fact, have a long backstory.
And this is the month where they’ll finally be able to tell it with ‘Bad Piggies’ upcoming release on Sept. 27.
Whether you enjoy Rovio’s game titles or not, it’s clear that they sure know how to make money.
And just like that, Rovio is back to number 1.
You’ve probably already heard, but just in case you forgot to wear your Angry Birds merchandise, Bad Piggies has just hit the scene. It’s Rovio’s latest and greatest, and it brings something slightly different to the mix.
Instead of flinging birds through the sky, or space, you’re actually much more concerned with the pigs.
After Rovio last week put out a teaser for its very first book app, with an announcement full of addled-looking pigs, today it’s unveiled the actual product: it’s an app for a cookbook about eggs — which happened to be the subject of Rovio’s first printed book effort, too.
Angry Birds has become such a mobile institution, and its maker, Rovio, has gone so far in its extension of that brand — toys, books, t-shirts, cereal, theme parks, films and more games – that this morning’s invitation to a launch of Rovio’s first ever book app came as something of a surprise.
Rovio, the creators behind the Angry Birds franchise, is gearing up to release what will most likely be another blockbuster hit for Android gaming. After recently purchasing the rights to the popular iOS game, Casey’s Contraptions, Rovio has plans to release a successor that should appeal to many people on both Android and iOS.
Rovio is adding to their Angry Birds franchise with the new spin off called Bad Piggies that will give fans of the series a chance to live life through the eyes of the pigs we are so often trying to hit. We knew the game was coming out on September 27th, but we didn’t know what the game would be about.
Rovio’s next budding smash hit is finally here folks. Right on cue with the expected September 27th launch date, Rovio has made Bad Piggies available available in the Play Store. In case you’ve forgotten, instead of playing as one of the various birds trying to destroy any and every pig, users will actually play with pigs as the main character.
