So the setup looks like this:
There is a main WLAN-router/modem which is connected to the internet and serves the lower floor with WLAN. Now upstairs I have a second WLAN-router/modem (I will call it router two from now on). A normal ethernet cable is plugged in in router two in one of the four ethernet ports and also in one of the four ethernet ports in router one.
Any help welcome before I smash my laptop and/or my router :)I have a Billion wired/wireless residential router connected to ADSL. Wireless with WPA is setup and working fine for ages. An Acer laptop with Windows Vista and a Samsung Galaxy phone can happily connect to the router over wireless in a room a few meters away from the router. My laptop (Acer Aspire 4710) with #!
We have a small office network with DSL and a Netgear WNR-2000 wireless router acting as a DHCP server. There are nine devices connected to the router, wirelessly and wired. Whenever a Mac computer tries to connect, it's unsuccessful until we restart the router.
I have a 'main' router that receives the internet signal from the ISP and another one in my room, connected with a cable.
The main router is running its original firmware and is very limited in its features, unfortunately I can not change this router, since my phone company has some hardcoded stuff in there and the internet will only work with this router.
Laptop gets the Internet through wifi. I'm trying to plug a router to the laptop to create a new wifi network. Laptop would bridge.
Hi
I am running Ubuntu 12.10.
My laptop connects to a wireless router. Now and then, I use my broadband modem. Thus, I disconnect from the router. When I want to connect to my router again, it keeps on popping up a dialog box with the password.
I have to restart the laptop in order to connect to the router again.
I have very little understanding (ok no technical ability so be gentle)
Ubuntu 10.10 connects to a DSL modem without any problems - I mean I just plugged it in and it worked - GREAT
I bought a wireless router so I could connect my netbook and now my Ubuntu machine which is simply using a cable from the wireless router now DOES NOT connect.

I would like to connect an android phone/tablet to my Ubuntu pc in my car.
Having a spare router I though of making a local wireless network.
All the info on the net is about turning the spare router into an access point of a existing Ethernet connection.
