What is a good tool to root a HTC s1 ? I haven't been able to find one that I like . also if I am rooted does that mean my sim card will be unlocked?or I can choose any carrier I want
So after having my Nexus 7 for a few months I finally decided to root it a month or so ago.
I unlocked the bootloader, flashed CWM Recovery and super user and all that good stuff.
I haven't really used any apps that required root up until yesterday when I went and tried to install adfree. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the app and still nothing. I then tried installed ad away.
is it possible to root a galaxy s3 that is carrier locked??my samsung galaxy s3 just receive its JB update via OTA..xxDLJ1. i have searched the net regarding on how to root it via odin every time i search, all the procedure requires it to be factory unlocked..
my question is how can i root it if my s3 is locked to a carrier..
I'm sure this has been brought up before but with 20 something internet tabs and countless youtube videos I definitely get the jist of what needs to be done in order to root the phone as I've done it a few years ago with another phone. The problem i'm having is I think I'm making this more complicated than it is.
Hey guys, I just recently upgraded from a basic slider phone to the Samsung galaxy S II i1777. I'm still new to the android scene but have a pretty good idea what rooting is. I've been trying to find a rooted kernel that I'll be able to flash to my phone but haven't had any luck. I found one for a i1777 running 2.3.5 but not one for 2.3.6? Anyone know if their is any way to root my phone?
I had my phone unlocked through ATT's service, and I'm currently using a SIM from Tuenti, which piggybacks off of Movistar's network. Do I still use the ATT images to root my phone, or will this screw up my cell coverage?
hi fairly new to the whole rooting scene. I had a successful root and flash by putting honeycomb on my nook color, and bricked a LG Thrill very bad. Had to return it. I know have a galaxy s2 from att. It has gingerbread 2.3.6 on it and I want to root it. I have searched up and down to find a good how to and if it is possible to root 2.3.6 without losing any features.
I have just got GTab 7.7 (US, Verizon) and immediately rooted it.
Now I found out they are planning to roll ICS to it soonish.
How would this work? IIRC the page w/root.zip said it will reject carrier updates to not lose root; at this point I'd prefer ICS over root :)
What should I do when update comes out to actually get it?
