I started using Linux around 1996 with a RH based distro Definite Linux by Jason Clifford the only other British Distro besides CB that I can recall.
Hello, thought I would say hi & introduce myself. I installed statler with backports repo yesterday & am very impressed, everything works great out the box. I've been using linux for a few years now & have switched to cb as my permanent distro. Good to be back to a debian based distro as well, not used debian since I used lenny on a home server a few years ago &a
I'm sure we already have several threads on this in the archives, but I keep thinking about it, and we often state in these forums that "CrunchBang is basically Debian with Openbox and a few UI and performance tweaks." So, is CrunchBang a separate distro, or is it "basically Debian"? Yes, there is the separate repository, but aside from a patched library or two
I started looking for another no-fuss distro for my old PC (I think Pentium 4 with 756mb ram) and came across AntiX. I'm checking it out since it seems to have my wireless usb drivers built into the liveiso (base). Also, has anyone had any first-hand experience with this distro? I like their mission statement, but I'm slightly confused with how they manage their sources

he folks at Dreamlinux have a goal, to make a distro where ‘dreams can come true’. The idea is to take a solid core Linux distro, Debian, make it look pretty, add the coolest and most-needed apps, then make it easy to install to just about anything.

Howdy 2 years 43 weeks ago hello from belgium.Watching the progress of #! and thinking of replacing my Zenwalk distro just to play with a (good) Debian Style distro instead of a (good) Slackware style distro. In fact, the main reason is to have acces to the repository of Debian which is quite bigger than the ones for Slackware/ZW.Cheers,-S
