I have Ubuntu 11/10 through Windows, by wubi. After some odd behaviours, (windows getting stuck in the main upper bar, and the like), and after a forced shut down because the system was stuck this time, I cannot open Ubuntu anymore.
Ok, I have windows 7 and ubuntu 10.10 on my Toshiba portege. I created a new partition in windows 7 and decided to delete it. All was well, until I deleted the new partition and extended the space back to the C drive. At first, my pc booted straight to win7, after using easybcd I was able to choose between windows and ubuntu.
Hi
I'm new to ubuntu, but I need it so I tried the wubi one to see if it works and it actually boot it the first time, but after a restart I got stock here:
I'm running it on Alienware M17X R1 windows 7 ultimate.
GNU GRUB version 1.99-21ubuntu3.1
Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB
lists possible command completions.
I dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu, though I use Ubuntu entirely for day-to-day computing. Today I had to switch back to Windows to find an old file, but when I tried to boot back into Ubuntu this odd thing appeared:
GNU GRUB version1.99-21ubuntu3
Minimal bash-like line editing is supported. For the first word,
TAB lists possible command completions.
i intalled it on my USB, i hold shift and restart it, pick the USB drive to boot from, however everytime it goes to this Grub screen and I cant do anything. Its as seen: GNU GRUB Version 2.00-7 Ubuntu 11
Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions.
I am a beginner for linux and have so many trouble installing ubuntu. Is there anyone can help me? I choose to install ubuntu alongside win 7. But the boot loader install has failed. When I restart, it shows :
GNU GRUB version 1.99-21ubuntu3.1
Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions.
I just installed ubuntu today with WUBI. After installing, the first time I tried to boot it, it gave me this screen:
Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions.
GRUB>
I tried repeatedly to reboot, and no luck. What it wrong?
Thanks, JT
