If you want to know the background of Chakra, and still did not found it in all places it was published, why a KDE-only distro:http://chakra-project.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?id=8165Post #4 here has a bunch for you to read:http://chakra-project.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?id=8148
Hello and welcome to Chakra! To answer no4, no you don't need to overwrite anything with new versions. Chakra is a (half) rolling distribution, so a "sudo pacman -Syu" will always keep you updated with the latest packages.
@dorisYou can follow the steps detailed on Chakra's wiki:http://chakra-project.org/wiki/index.ph … eo-DriversPlease ignore the part about Grub Legacy as for later editions Chakra uses Grub 2. Ask if you run into any issue, good luck!
Netinstaller has groups, but I guess that is not really what you meant .http://chakra-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=PacmanA nice search funtion in pacman i s 'pacman -Ss partial_name'It will return a list, with a short description of any package within that search term. The Wiki has a decent listing too:http://chakra-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=Software
Hello and welcome to Chakra. For starters check the wiki:http://chakra-linux.org/wiki/index.php/ … ur_PrinterYou will probably need to install this package from CCR first:http://chakra-linux.org/ccr/packages.php?ID=1654You can do that with ccr -S brother-mfc210c-cupswrapper
