http://www.talkandroid.com – Republic Wireless announced today that they have begun shipping pre-ordered smartphones for their new wireless service. Republic Wireless is using a “Hybrid Wi-Fi cellular Calling network” to provide service. The network utilizes any available wifi for a primary network and Sprint’s 3G network for the secondary network. According to Republic Wireless CEO David Morken, the service will “invert the status quo” by relying on cheap, plentiful wifi and only reverting to more costly, limited cellular when wifi is not available. wireless unstable 40 weeks 4 days ago

I have a Asus eee PC 1001PX running ubuntu 12.04. Everything works well but the wifi is unstable. When I boot the wifi works fine, but after about 5-10 min it gets slow, disconnects etc and the computer starts to run slowly. The it is ok after reboot, for about 5-10 min.

Any ideas? I have tried everything I have found with google but nothing works.

Hello all, I have googeld and searched the forum for the answer for the better part of the day. I just did a complete wipe of my machine (Dell Inspirion N5010) and installed 12.10. Wifi worked and then I did the update and now wifi is gone.

I am severe wireless problems with Ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop.(Spec below)

I have just performed the first clean install since new. Installed a new Hard Drive as well. The machine and wifi was fine under Ubuntu 9.04.

It is booting much faster now but the wifi keeps dropping off.

Any assistance in resolving this would be appreciated as I use this machine for work.
