I'm having real trouble setting multiple library locations in Rhythmbox on Arch. I had this working on Ubuntu with an older version of Rhythmbox by following the steps in the following webpage:https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Rhyth … irectoriesAs far as I can tell the use of gconf-editor has been depricated in the latest version of Rhythmbox as found on Arch, in favour of dconf-editor.
VLC supports the library MPRIS and then D-Bus for Desktop process intercommunication since version 2.0.
Hi, I have removed various rhythmbox directorys as superuser to make rhythmbox detect my artbox correctly, but what I have done is not fix the problem but spoil the menu bars of the interface (window menu, play/pause/forward/next controls)
I remember one of the directorys was /usr/share/rhythmbox
How can I recover rhythmbox?
I have tried with apt-get remove --purge rhythmbox
But nothin
I have just upgraded to 12.04 and I'm not happy that the integrated music player is once again Rhythmbox. I much prefer Banshee and would prefer to have it as the default music player in the same style as it was before (i.e. Default audio application, completely integrated into sound menu, Ubuntu One integration). Also, I would like to be rid of Rhythmbox as the default.
The overlay scrollbars now can be easily switch on/off in Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal using Dconf Editor. This quick tip is going to show you how to do it.
First of all, search for and install Dconf Editor in Ubuntu Software Center
Then open Dconf Editor, navigate to com -> canonical -> desktop -> interface. See, you’ll get 4 scrollbar mode.
So I'm having a problem with the Sound Indicator and RhythmBox. Basically what happens is RhythmBox's Play, Pause, Forward, and Backward buttons don't work and the whole RhythmBox section of the indicator freezes and looks like this
The rest of the indicator is fine however. The mute button, the volume slider, and the sound settings button all function correctly.
Ubuntu desktop edition by default auto-mount removable media connected via usb port. This tutorial shows how to disable usb auto-mount feature on Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04 and higher.
1. Install dconf-editor by searching dconf-tools in Software Center.
2. Launch dconf-editor and navigate to org -> gnome -> desktop -> media-handling
3. The automount key controls whether to automatically mount media.
Previous I have never used rhythmbox by default because it seemed to be lacking in features to me. Just my personal opinion.
With rhythmbox back in 12.04 will ubuntu give it some attention to give it some usability one thing that was majorly missing on my last use of rhythmbox was an equalizer which is the most basic of requirements for an audio player let alone a preamp.
In a fresh Ubuntu installation, one thing I would like to do is to turn off the overlay scrollbars instead using the old scrolling bars. Overlay Scrollbars feature comes with Unity since Ubuntu 11.04.
I found three ways to easily turn off the overlay scrollbars. All the ways need to log out and log back to take effect. Please feel free to leave a comment if you have a new method.
