Hi!I have an ocz revodrive ssd with a silicon image raid controller within, which is managed by dmraid properly. I've read that dmraid will be depreciated and mdadm is the replacing method.
I finally put a bigger hard drive in my net-book so that I could dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04. Unfortunately, the Ubuntu installer does not recognize that Windows 7 is already installed.
I used the tried running Ubuntu off of the Live CD. I ran the
Code:
sudo os-prober
to see what the installer was looking at.

I am not sure if I was understood correctly. I do not want to run the system itself on a fakeraid. I have a dedicated disk for my system/boot. So let me rephrase:If i disconnect my raid, would i be able to install chakra anyway? Looks like. Then I could unload mdadm (modprobe -r mdadm) and install dmraid (packman -S dmraid) ?
Hi!
I have a dual-boot system with 1 OS hard drive and 4 harddrives that are combined via dmraid on Fedora (one XFS partition) and via Windows Raid for Windows (ntfs partition). For some reason windows could not detect the raid (was still fine on linux), then I redetected the drive in windows so that it said "unformatted".
I have fake (nvidia) raid 1 setup using dmraid. All worked pretty well for almost a month and every update went fine. Except the last one to linux 3.1.9-2. There was some output lines from pacman saying something like "hook dmraid is not available" during linux package installation.
I was able to successfully rebuild the image by chrooting, reinstalling the kernel using:sudo pacman -S linuxI still can't get past initramfs.....it fails to find my root partition, saying no block devices found. Trying to manually check dmraid devices:dmraid -ay
no block devices foundI even tried adding sleep to my HOOKS in mkinitcpio.conf and rebuilding...still happens.
